Virtual Computer Labs
During the Fall 2020 semester, computer labs and other shared computers at the Sam Fox School will have limited access. To replace these computers, we have partnered with WashU IT to offer a couple of options. Both options only support the Windows side tools, so if there are any application that are unique to Mac they will not be available at this time.
Apporto (Option 1)
Apporto is tool for using your browser to access a virtual computer. You can login at https://wustl.apporto.com then click the “Launch” button under the “Sam Fox” app. Please only use the Sam Fox link – this is the only version that is licensed and supported for Sam Fox and has all the software we typically have in the computer labs. Before using the virtual lab for the first time, we strongly encourage you to review at least the “Launching an App or Desktop” guide at the Apporto Help Center.
Microsoft Remote Desktop (Option 2)
This solution allows a user to remote into a computer in one of our three labs. It is primarily for classes that need specific software that only lives on Windows lab computers. Instructions for access will be posted this week.
