Computing & Printing Labs
Various computing and printing labs are located throughout the Sam Fox School.
WHITAKER LEARNING LAB
Located on the ground floor of the Kemper Art Museum, Room 040 (near the Art & Architecture Library), the Whitaker Learning Lab houses the IT Department and serves as the primary hub for printing activity. It is open to students, faculty, and staff across the school.
Hours: Monday–Friday: 8 AM – 11 PM (Lab monitor on duty)Hours may be limited during breaks and holidays. Check the front door for updates.
Services
Lab Spaces:
Whitaker Learning Lab 040A: 13 PC workstations, plus one AV system with a dedicated computer.
Whitaker Learning Lab 040L: 13 Mac workstations, plus one AV system with a dedicated computer.
Printing Area: 9 dual-boot (Apple & Windows) workstations.
Large-format plotting
Large-format scanning (Scanning takes priority on connected computers with the necessary software.)

Custom Paper Usage:Before using custom paper on an SFS printer, it must be preapproved by the Sam Fox School IT staff. Bring a manufacturer’s description for instant approval. If unauthorized paper use results in damage, you will be responsible for repair costs and any disruptions caused.
Software Available on Lab Computers:
All computers: Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite
Windows partitions: AutoCAD, Rhino, and various 3D rendering plugins
Additional Lab Information:
The Photo Elective Lab is primarily reserved for classes.
TAs are available in the Whitaker Learning Lab to assist with computing and printing questions.
