Sales Tax Reimbursements

The Sam Fox School does not reimburse faculty or staff for sales tax charged on purchases.  As a not-for-profit entity, WashU is exempt from paying Missouri sales tax.  Exception certificates for Missouri and other states are available on the Financial Services website below.  The certificate should be presented at the time of purchase.  If sales tax is unavoidable, please contact Meredith Gugger for exception approval prior to submitting an expense report.  

If you want to make purchases on Amazon, please setup a WashU Business Amazon Prime account for tax exempt purchases (via Procard OR reimbursement). Employees should email our Purchasing contact, Allen Cassell at acassell@wustl.edu to request access. He will reply with an instruction email on how to setup the new account with login/password.
